The peace, and beauty of the house and environs--plus the kind attention of Gillian Ennis, the inn-keeper.
It's out of the way of everything except for Shannon airport and Bunratty Castle, but if anyone needs to be near either of these locations, I can't think of a lovelier place to stay. A beatiful country home with a very kind and accomodating staff. Wonderful food served in the restaurant, and many kind attentions.

It was quiet the first night in the country setting.
Restaurant is closed on sunday and monday - the nights we were staying. There is no mention of thison the website. Another couple we met at breakfast were surprised as well. The isolated location makes it a hassel to find a restaurant when you are not familiar with the area. We ended up with McDonalds. It is close to an airport--too close. Becuase there is no air conditioning you must sleep with windows open - flights going over can be noisy.

I stayed at Carrygerry Country House for 3 nights while exploring the area. The location was quiet and perfect for what I had planned. The room and bathroom were spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was excellent, always friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious, especially Gillian's homemade marmalade. The Bower room had a charming and comfortable vibe with a wonderful view. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to recharge and reconnect with nature. Thanks again for everything, Gillian and team!
Would recommend this hotel.

The inn keeper was great! very friendly and welcoming. We didn't eat here, but we should have - they have a terrific restaurant. The parlour in the front of the house with the fireplace...very quiet and romantic, it was fantastic just listening to the sound of the fireplace crackling.
Tthe room price includes breakfast, but they don't begin serving until 7:30am, and since we had a 9am flight back to the States, we missed out.

This country hotel is a hidden gem...we chose it for its proximity to Shannon Airport but in fact it was a delight and we'd have happily have stayed longer. The sumptuous decor and tasty home cooked breakfasts were really special

What I liked best was the gorgeous location: beautiful green pastures in a quiet, country setting in a lovely B&B. If you want rest and quiet, this is a great place to recharge. The staff is also very accommodating. We wanted to take a nice walk in the area, and we were given some great suggestions.
I can't think of anything I didn't like.

The staff were so attentive, friendly and helpful that they enhanced a perfect country setting that was a few minutes from Bunratty castle and the airport. Food was excellent and they truly catered to the international traveler. The early breakfast on a Sunday morning for those needing to get to the airport was so helpful and then a map to the gas station and then the rental car lots at the airport were detailed and perfect. They also provided us with excellent directions to the hotel. The sunset over the Shannon estuary as we ate an excellent meal was the icing on the cake. Very pleased indeed.
The quirky lighting system----the overhead light had to be on for the bathroom light to work. But the hotel is delightfully old, so what can one expect!!

The fish chowder is the best I've ever eaten. The atmosphere was restful and unhurried and all that a vacation in the country should be. They were particularly accommodating since we arrived late and they held the kitchen open just for us.
The room was on the smaller side.

This country house is delightful. The setting is very pastoral and calming. From the very start, the owners go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. It's a little challenging to find, but it is so worth the effort. Even though it is close to the airport you cannot hear any of the planes taking off or landing. The beds were comfortable. The food is deliciously gourmet and plentiful. We even cancelled our reservation elsewhere so we could stay an additional night. We came home from there with a new attitude and peace of mind. Our recommendation of this country home is the highest we can offer.
